Organic Homemade SkinCare Products!!

March 15, 2017

Hi!

Today I'd like to share something different from what I normally would post, it is organic homemade skincare products and easy steps to make them!

After a long month of researching, I based my research into what natural whole kitchen ingredients can help improve the condition of my skin. An important part is that this isn't something everyone will find helpful, since I based the recipes and research on what's best for my skin, which is mixed type! I created the products using 5 of the superfoods I discovered in my research to be extremely beneficial toward the skin (if used in the right way)!

1) Coconut Oil

It helps strengthen underlying skin tissue and removes dead cells that make skin appear dry and flaky. Coconut oil provides deep moisture to your skin.

2)Apple Vinegar

100% natural and organic way to keep your skin feeling fresh and supple. apple cider vinegar a potent antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral substance capable of keeping bacteria at bay and pimples from forming.

3)Sea Salt

Salt has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin and calm breakouts and irritation. They also help to balance oil production and retain hydration in the layers of skin where it's needed most.

Can be used in my exfoliating face mask.

4)Ground Roll Oats

Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties and is perfect for oily and sensitive skin types. Oatmeal contains saponins, a cleansing agent, and can therefore be used as a mild soap. Oatmeal is moisturising and helps remove dead skin cells. Oatmeal can help treat acne, eczema, rosacea and rashes.

5)Aloe Vera

Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel, so it’s perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion. Aloe vera gel contains two hormones: Auxin and Gibberellins. These two hormones provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation.

As for my products, I made a hydrating face mask, exfoliating face mask, hydrating toner, cleansing milk.

RECIPES

Hydrating Skin Mask Recipe

Description

This hydrating face mask is suitable for my skin type because aloe vera and cucumber both have moisturizing properties without making the skin too greasy. Coconut oil is also a great source of moisture and the thickness of coconut oil helps bind the aloe vera and cucumber together in the mask. It sounds wrong to use coconut oil for my oily skin, but the oil is full of healthy fats that can help cure the excess sebum from my oily skin. This mask can be kept up to 1 week if sealed and stored in the fridge.

Ingredients

Ingredients

4 tablespoons of fresh Aloe Vera gel (any organic raw brand)

A quarter cup of a cucumber, diced into cubes.

1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil.

Steps

  1. Take the cucumber, dice it into cubes ( size doesn't matter ) with a kitchen knife.

  2. Collect ingredients in a bowl, put into blender together, blend until smooth.

  3. Spread the mixture gently with fingertips on your cleansed face and neck, avoid eye area.

  4. Relax face and leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes

  5. Wash the face mask off with a washcloth and warm water, pat skin dry with a clean towel.

Exfoliating Face Mask

Description

This face mask is an exfoliating face mask, which mean it is supposed to deeply cleanse and get rid of the dead skin and other impurities on it. I chose these ingredients so that the face mask will be well balanced and soothing. Coconut oil is a great ingredient for any products since it provides great moisture and also works well with other ingredients so that the texture of the face mask is just right. Salt has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin and calm breakouts and irritation and the rough texture of it in the mask will help rub off the impurities. Oatmeal contains saponins, a cleansing agent, therefore it is perfect for cleansing the skin. Finally, almond milk has a great source of vitamin E and antioxidants to help protect skin cells from damage and the soft, thin, creamy texture is great for the face mask.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

3 teaspoons of sea salt

½ cup of ground roll oats

2 tablespoons of almond milk

Steps

  1. Pour all ingredients into a bowl, use a spoon to bind them together until it is well mixed.

  2. Spread the mixture with fingertips on your face and neck, rub into skin in circular motions.

  3. After rubbing for around 5 minutes, leave on the skin for 5 more minutes.

  4. Wash the face mask off with a washcloth and warm water, pat skin dry with a clean towel.

Cleansing Milk

Description

Oats on it’s own make a great cleansing milk because of the anti-inflammatory properties and other benefits (mentioned above), but in this cleansing milk I added apple vinegar since it is great for anti-bacterial purposes and salt to calm my breakouts and irratations, and lastly almond milk to soothe and calm my skin.

Ingredients

½  cup of oats

¼ cup of apple vinegar

2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons almond milk

Steps

  1. Blend all the ingredients together in blender/ food processor.

  2. Store in a plastic container in the fridge, can be kept up to 2 weeks.

  3. Apply around 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto skin, rub it gently in circular motions for around a minute. Until skin is thoroughly cleansed.

  4. Wash the mixture off with a clean towel and warm water.
